1. Structure and shape of main roll
The main roll has a cylindrical shape and has a hole with a key way to assemble the rotating shaft. The main roll is rotated by the motor and reducer. The rotation speed of the main roll varies depending on the size of the ring mill equipment, but it usually rotates at 20-40 rpm. The smaller the ring mill, the faster the rotation speed of the main roll.
The general main roll is a simple cylindrical shape, but the main roll for producing a profile ring with a complicated sectional shape varies depending on the product shape.
2. Functions of main roll
The main roll is the most important part of the ring mill. The main roll is the reference point for measuring the dimensions of the ring. The outer diameter of the ring is measured from the surface of the main roll.
A torque is generated that rotates the rolling ring from the main roll. On the opposite side of the ring where the main roll rotates, axial roll rotates the ring. The base of the ring rotation speed is the rotation speed of the main roll. The ring is rotated by the main roll that rotates at the rotation speed of n1, and the rotational speed n2 of the axial roll is controlled to match the linear velocity (V1) at which the ring rotates.(V1=V2)
Main roll
